We started out as a social experiment to connect Black Austin singles in 2018. Over time we transitioned into an immersive events platform built for people of color seeking community. 

Velvet Love & Life Co (formerly Black Dating Society) mission is to help individuals recognize their goals for a well rounded and balanced social life. We build interactive events that cultivate emotional/human intelligence through introspective activities based on self reflection and personal awareness.

Event attendees interact and mingle with others who have shared life experiences and kinship. All experiences are themed and strategically built to promote group activity where participants walk away with practical tools, easily digestible advice and new friends. 

We are helping people foster successful relationships with themselves and others through our unique programming which includes: social events, energizing mixers, spirited game nights (Zodiac Social), interactive workshops and lively panel discussions!
